2.2     All Employees/Staff of Knights of Old Group who interact with data subjects are responsible for ensuring that this notice is drawn to the data subject’s attention and their consent to the processing of their data is secured.

3.1     Who are we?

The Knights of Old Group is one of the largest privately owned logistics companies in the Midlands. Established in 1865 the company has grown from a single horse and cart to a dynamic business that offers a worldwide logistics and storage service.

With strategically located sites in Kettering, Luton, and Dublin, and a fleet of more than 250 trucks and 300 trailers, the Knights of Old Group offers a service that is second to none. The Merger with Nelson Distribution in 2016 further extended the Northern reach of the group.

Training has a key role in the company and in 2014 the group created Merlin Supply Chain Solutions, which runs training courses for the drivers of tomorrow. 2015 Knights of Old Group created Merlin Academy - Driver development, Merlin People - Driver supply, Merlin Leaders - Leadership development

Consent is required for Knights of Old Group to process personal data, but it must be explicitly given. For sensitive personal data we will always tell you why and how the information will be used.

 

You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting either of the GDPR owners listed above informing them of your request to withdraw your consent in writing.

 

3.3     Disclosure

Knights of Old Group will pass on your personal data to third parties only to enable them to perform the service that you have contracted them to perform, for example we will provide delivery addresses to third party delivery companies in order to deliver your consignment. On occasion when ordering delivery services in non EU countries we will share your details with non EU delivery partners, please see below list of these partners and access to their existing data protection safeguards. For the avoidance of doubt no personal details will be shared with any third party companies for the use of direct marketing or sales.

3.4     Retention period

Knights of Old Group will process and store personal data for only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy after which it will be destroyed in a secure manner. Knights of Old may retain and use your information to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your information to comply with applicable tax / revenue laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. 3.5     Your rights as a data subject

At any point while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you, the data subject, have the following rights:
  • Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
  • Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.
  • Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing.
  • Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.
  • Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
  • Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.
  • Right to judicial review: in the event that Knights of Old Group refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why. You have the right to complain as outlined in clause 3.6 below.
 
All of the above requests will be forwarded on should there be a third party involved (as stated in 3.4 above) in the processing of your personal data, should you wish to enforce one of the above rights please contact one of the GDPR owners as described above.

In order for us to provide you with transport and warehouse services we need to collect personal data for the provision of these services and in ordert to keep you updated on any future service or product offerings, In any event, we are committed to ensuring that the information we collect and use is appropriate for this purpose, and does not constitute an invasion of your privacy.
In terms of being contacted for marketing purposes Knights of Old Group would contact you for additional consent.

Will Knights of Old Group share my personal data with anyone else?
We may pass your personal data on to third-party service providers contracted to Knights of Old Group in the course of dealing with you. Any third parties that we may share your data with are obliged to keep your details securely, and to use them only to fulfill the transport or warehouse services that they provide for you on our behalf.When they no longer need your data to fulfil this service, they will dispose of the details in line with Knights of Old Group’s procedures. If we wish to pass your sensitive personal data onto a third party we will only do so once we have obtained your consent, unless we are legally required to do otherwise.

How will Knights of Old Group use the personal data it collects about me?
